General Information
Below is some general information for you to consider, but please read our Booking Conditions carefully – they are important.
Charter Flights
All our charter flights are direct to Lourdes airport and our airport staff in the UK will assist you with your departure to Lourdes where you will be received by our local based Mancunia staff.
Transport is provided to Lourdes which is only 20 minutes from the airport. Prices for standard FLIGHT ONLY fares , per person single trip, are available on request and will include all taxes and fees. Also included is a very generous baggage allowance. For flight only transfers, to and from the centre of Lourdes (Hotel Beau Site, 36 Avenue Peyramale) there is an additional charge of £15 per person each way.
Scheduled Flights
These operate from various UK airports for all our pilgrimage destinations. We can book these flights for you and arrange a transfer to join our pilgrimages. Where Mancunia Travel use these operators we will always advise pilgrims regarding facilities offered. Not all airlines use walkways to the aircraft and some offer only a restricted service to passengers of reduced mobility. In flight catering may vary depending on the airline and will be advised at the time of ticketing.
The transfer costs from French/Spanish airports (i.e. Toulouse, Bordeaux, Bilbao etc.) to Lourdes hotels will, normally, incur an additional charge and this will be advised to you at the time of your booking.
Air Bridges
Manchester and Lourdes airports provide air bridges for passengers on our charter flights. There are no stairs and all access to the terminals and aircraft have ramps for wheelchair users. We cannot confirm air bridges on scheduled flights operating from and to other airports and other pilgrimage destinations.
Baggage Allowance
On all our charter flights there is a very generous baggage allowance. Scheduled flights can vary, please check your tickets and itinerary for final information.
Special Requirements
We welcome all Pilgrims. To ensure the support you require is available please include full details of disabilities and clearly explain any special help, assistance or room requirements that may be needed. It is imperative that we are told of all requirements. We cannot accept wheelchair passengers or passengers requiring assistance without an able bodied helper and without being advised at the time of booking. Wheelchairs not pre-advised may be refused.
If you are planning on bringing an electric mobility aide please ask Mancunia for advice.
Special Diets
We are usually able to request special diets from hotels if we are advised in advance. European hotels are not renowned for offering good vegetarian/vegan selections and special medical diets cannot be guaranteed, even when pre-booked. Some of our destinations are less used to catering for certain requirements than others. For gluten free diets we always recommend that you take your own bread, where possible.
Guide Dogs & Assistance Dogs
For Lourdes we are pleased to be able to welcome guide/assistance dogs and where possible will carry such dogs in the cabin of the aircraft. One month’s notice is usually required, please contact us for further details.
Hotels & Accommodation
Accommodation is usually based on shared rooms. For large groups we will arrange for passengers to share with the same sex and, as far as possible, age group. If we are unable to do this we will accommodate you in a single room and reserve the right to make an additional charge of up to the quoted single room supplement.
A single room supplement is for a single room and not necessarily single occupancy of a twin or double room. Single rooms are of limited availability.
Travel Documentation
All your travel documents will be sent approximately 2 weeks before your departure and include badge and luggage labels.
Child Discounts
We are, sometimes, able to offer certain discounts to younger pilgrims for the ground package but not for air, train or coach seats. Please contact our team to confirm the discounts available at the time of booking.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is compulsory. We have arranged an excellent policy for all our pilgrims with Global Travel Insurance Services Ltd.
A summary of the cover offered can be seen here: Insurance
European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
In the event that you become hospitalised in EU countries the EHIC may cover part of the cost and may reduce the health section of the insurance policy excess to nil. This is not travel insurance.
